Susan Dunlap Associates

Susan Dunlap is the founder of Women’s Leadership Forum.  She is also the principal of Susan Dunlap Associates, a leadership coaching and strategic planning consulting firm that specializes in working with lawyers and law firms.

Susan brings more than 20 years of experience as a consultant and advisor to the chairs, managing partners, and practice group leaders in some of the country’s top law firms. As a consultant, she has helped law firm leaders deal with some of their most difficult challenges, including firm-wide and practice group strategic planning, lateral partner hiring and integration, intra-firm conflict management, business development and marketing. Susan also has provided one-on-one coaching to hundreds of individual partners.

Susan combines a practical understanding of law firms with leadership training from two of the country’s top leadership coaching programs – Georgetown University’s Leadership Coaching Program and The Strozzi Institute’s Somatic Coaching Program. Susan has taught CLE classes and programs for the Georgetown University Law Center and the D.C. Women’s Bar Association.

Sheryl D. Phillips, M.A.

Sheryl Phillips, a leadership consultant and executive coach, has partnered with leaders for over 20 years to create more effective organizations. She works at the individual, team and system level providing services in executive coaching, leadership development, organizational development and strategic and business planning.  Sheryl is on the faculty of Georgetown University’s Leadership Coaching Program and the newly formed Institute for Transformational Leadership at Georgetown.

Sheryl has designed, developed and delivered numerous Leadership Development Programs for clients.  Recent projects include the well-regarded Successful Leaders Program for a large government agency and The Art of Leadership for one of the world’s foremost medical research centers.  She has also served as visiting faculty for the cutting edge leadership program at a Big 4 accounting firm.  Sheryl believes that leaders learn best from each other and through applying the learning to their real work.  As such, Sheryl approaches her work in a client-focused, facilitative manner and designs cohort-based programs that use a blended-approach of experiential classroom training, individual coaching, and action-learning.

Sheryl is a Certified Professional Coach by the Newfield Network, an internationally renowned coaching school; and a certified Somatic Coach by The Strozzi Institute. She is a contributing author to On Becoming a Leadership Coach (Palgrave 2008).

Katherine Ebner, Principal

Katherine (Kate) Ebner is the founder and principal of The Nebo Company, an innovative leadership development firm based in Washington, D.C.  Kate is also a member of the faculty and co-director of the internationally acclaimed Georgetown University’s Leadership Coaching program and Co-Director of Georgetown’s new Institute for Transformational Leadership.

The Nebo Company offers leadership programs for senior leaders, executive coaching, and an original and leading edge Leadership & Life Curriculum.  Its clients include Fortune 500 companies, law firms and other professional services companies, and non-profit organizations. “Nebo for Women”, a division of The Nebo Company, offers a set of offerings designed to help companies retain talented women – and help women thrive in the workplace. Kate’s accomplishments include design and delivery of innovative and effective mentor programs, development of career paths and related competency models, the development of leadership development programs for senior executives, and the creation and implementation of group processes that improve organizational culture in significant, measurable ways.

Kate is a master coach who specializes in helping leaders develop and implement a vision for their organizations, leadership and lives. Her piece, “Coaching for Leverage,” offering a model for helping professionals who are overwhelmed with work appears in On Becoming a Leadership Coach, which was published in August 2008.  She is the host of the weekly online radio show, “Visionary Leader, Extraordinary Life.”
